FAQs

  • Yes, we do offer group bookings. Our nurses can attend to multiple individuals simultaneously. To book a group session in our booking tool, you can choose between “Small” (2 to 4 people) or “Large” (5 to 10 people). When booking, please provide the names and mobile numbers of all attendees. Our team will manually add them to the system.

Note that all group members must complete a medical intake form before the appointment. Each person’s medical history and suitability for treatment will be assessed individually by our prescribing doctor. This ensures that the infusion selected is appropriate for each participant’s specific health needs.

  • At VITAIV, we are committed to providing personalised, premium care that adheres to the highest medical standards. As a mobile service, we are unable to offer intravenous infusions to individuals under the age of 18. Administering an infusion requires a thorough medical evaluation, which must be conducted by a licensed healthcare provider in person.

  • Although the risk of having a serious allergic reaction is extremely low, it can happen. In the (very) unlikely event that a person has a reaction, we have plans and equipment in place to ensure you are kept safe.

  • If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, we strongly recommend consulting with your OB/GYN or GP before booking an infusion.

First trimester pregnancies: A letter of approval from your OB/GYN is required prior to any infusion. This ensures that any treatment is safe for both you and your developing baby.

Second and third trimester pregnancies: We can offer hydration infusions only, subject to a thorough review by our prescribing doctor. This is in line with best practices to ensure that only low-risk infusions are administered during these stages of pregnancy.

Breastfeeding: It is advised that you refrain from breastfeeding for at least 6 hours after your infusion. Some substances may pass into breast milk, and this waiting period ensures that any such substances have time to clear from your system.

All infusions are administered under the guidance of our prescribing doctor, who will review your medical history and any relevant factors before approval. The health and well-being of both you and your child are our top priority, and we ensure that all treatments are aligned with medical guidelines and best practices.

  • The duration of your infusion depends on the specific infusion and your individual needs. Typically, hydration and vitamin infusions take between 45 to 60 minutes to administer. Additional time may be required at the beginning and end of the session for consultation with our medical team, ensuring your comfort, answering any questions you may have, and completing any necessary documentation.

  • At VITAIV, our registered nurses are unable to provide medical advice or recommend specific ingredients for your infusion, as they are not authorised to make clinical decisions or prescribe medications. It is important that a licensed healthcare provider, such as our prescribing physician, assesses your medical history and current health status to determine the most appropriate infusion for you.

We strongly recommend consulting with your regular healthcare provider before your appointment to discuss the ingredients listed in our menu and determine their suitability. During your consultation, our prescribing physician will review your intake form and assess your individual needs. Based on this assessment, certain ingredients may not be available to you, and any limitations or considerations will be discussed with you prior to your infusion.

  • Our registered health professionals come to you at your home, hotel, office, or business. Upon booking your infusion, you will receive an intake form to provide information about any pre-existing medical conditions or current medications/treatment plans. This form is then reviewed by our medical team, including our prescribing doctor, to ensure your infusion is tailored to your individual needs.

All infusions are administered under the guidance of our prescribing doctor, and some ingredients or infusion types may not be suitable for you based on the information provided in your intake form.

During your infusion, our nurse will remain with you to monitor your comfort and observe the infusion process. If necessary, adjustments will be made to ensure the most comfortable experience possible. If you have any questions about the ingredients, doses, or anything else related to your infusion, feel free to contact us.

  • Yes. As the name suggests, intravenous (IV) therapy involves the insertion of a cannula into a vein. This allows for fluids and vitamins to be administered directly into your bloodstream.

A needle is used to insert the cannula, which is a small, flexible plastic tube, and then removed. The cannula remains in place for the duration of your infusion, and is removed once the infusion is completed.

  • Understandably its not a fan favourite! During the cannula insertion, you might feel a quick little pinch, but once the cannula's in place, we remove the needle, and it’s time to relax.

We want your experience to feel comfortable and as relaxing as possible. IV treatments mean we can't skip the needle part entirely, but we've got some clever tricks up our sleeve to keep things stress free for you.

  • There is a possibility of bruising as a result of the intravenous infusion process, as with any procedure that involves the insertion of a needle or cannula. Our registered nurses will take all necessary precautions to minimize this risk. After your infusion, they will provide you with post-care instructions to help reduce the likelihood of bruising.

  • There is generally no required downtime after your infusion, and you can resume most normal activities. However, we recommend avoiding strenuous activity, particularly involving the arm where the infusion was administered, for up to 6 hours. This is to allow the insertion site (where the cannula was placed) to properly settle and reduce the risk of irritation, swelling, or bruising.

If you experience any unusual symptoms or concerns following your infusion, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

  • Absolutely, a little TLC post-drip goes a long way to max out those benefits—think of it as giving your body the VIP treatment it deserves! Here's the lowdown on what to do (and dodge) after your session:

    • Stay super hydrated to help your body keep flushing out those pesky toxins and make the most of your nutrient surge. Aim for plenty of water over the next 48 hours—your cells will thank you!

    • Your body's in peak absorption mode right now, so load up on wholesome foods to snag those extra micronutrients. It's like supercharging your meals for ultimate glow-up potential!

    • Skip the heavy lifting or intense workouts with the arm where the cannula was inserted—it amps up bruising risks. Give it a breather for at least 24 hours, and if you spot any redness or swelling, keep an eye on it.

    • Alcohol can crash the absorption party hard, so hold off for at least a day to let those vitamins do their thing uninterrupted. Trust us, your refreshed self will appreciate the break!

Follow these tips, and you'll be feeling fabulous in no time. If anything feels off, hit up your doctor or our team—safety first, always!

  • At VITAIV, we truly get a kick out of watching our clients reap the rewards of top-notch vitamins.

Our founders, Maddi & Britt, are certified injectable nutrient experts who collaborate closely with our in-house integrative prescribing practitioner. This powerhouse of expertise guarantees that every treatment is not only impactful but always prioritises your safety above all.

  • The frequency of infusions depends on your individual health needs and medical history. At vitaiv, we follow TGA and AHPRA guidelines, and your infusion plan is always tailored after a consultation with a licensed healthcare provider. For some infusions, particularly those with prescription-only or compounded ingredients, there may be recommended intervals between infusions. We’ll work with you to determine the best plan for your needs.

  • No, we do not provide iron infusions. While our registered nurses are fully qualified and trained to administer a variety of intravenous infusions, iron infusions require specific equipment and facilities that are only available in a clinical or hospital setting. This is due to the potential risks involved, such as allergic reactions, anaphylaxis, and iron overload, which require close monitoring and immediate access to medical interventions in case of an adverse reaction.

  • Taking vitamins orally means your body absorbs approximately 30% of their potential. Why? They have to endure a brutal breakdown in the stomach, snake through the entire digestive maze, and only then does absorption even begin to happen... talk about inefficiency!

Additional factors like gut troubles, a fatigued immune system, or everyday stress can further reduce those absorption levels.

VITAIV infusions: With 100% bioavailability, every single vitamin zips straight into your bloodstream (no gut detour required), sparking cellular action in seconds flat. Instant power-up, no compromises!

  • Yes, certain medical conditions may disqualify you from receiving an infusion. To ensure your health and well-being, we conduct a thorough review of your medical history during your initial consultation. If any of the following conditions are identified, we may not be able to proceed with an infusion:

Severe Heart Conditions: Including severe arrhythmias, congestive heart failure, or other significant cardiovascular diseases that may be affected by fluid or electrolyte imbalances.

Severe Kidney Disease: Individuals with severe renal failure or those requiring dialysis may not be suitable for certain types of infusions due to potential strain on the kidneys.

Severe Allergies or Sensitivities to Infusion Ingredients: If you have a known allergy to any of the ingredients used in our infusions, we cannot administer those infusions.

Active Infections or Immunocompromised States: If you have an active infection, are undergoing chemotherapy, or have a weakened immune system, we may not be able to proceed with an infusion until your health stabilises.

Severe Dehydration or Electrolyte Imbalances: If you are severely dehydrated or experiencing significant imbalances in your electrolytes, this may require hospital-based care.

Certain Liver Disorders: Conditions such as cirrhosis or active liver disease may contraindicate certain infusions, as the liver plays a key role in metabolising many substances.

Pregnancy: As previously mentioned, if you are pregnant, certain infusions may not be suitable, especially in the first trimester, unless approved by your OBGYN. In the second and third trimesters, we only offer hydration infusions after medical consultation.

Uncontrolled Diabetes: Individuals with poorly controlled diabetes may require more specialised care due to the fluid shifts that can occur with infusions.

Active Blood Disorders: Conditions such as haemophilia, blood clotting disorders, or other active blood pathologies may not be compatible with intravenous infusions.

Recent Surgery or Serious Trauma: If you’ve recently had surgery or experienced significant trauma, we may not be able to proceed with an infusion until you're medically stable.

If any of the above conditions apply to you, or if you are unsure about your eligibility, we strongly recommend consulting with your primary healthcare provider or specialist prior to booking an infusion.

Our nurses' time is valuable, so once you have booked your appointment, we ask that you complete your intake form as quickly and accurately as possible. This ensures that our medical team, including our prescribing doctor, has sufficient time to assess your health status and determine whether proceeding with an infusion is appropriate for you.

If a medical contraindication is identified during the review, we may offer alternative options or refer you to another healthcare provider for appropriate care.

Please remember, the information you provide on your intake form is crucial. It is essential that you disclose any relevant medical conditions, medications, or treatments to help us make the most informed decision regarding your infusion.
